Never Lose an Opportunity

Image
Never lose an opportunity to tell someone "I love you." Never lose an opportunity to give someone a hug. Never lose an opportunity to help someone in need. When you miss an opportunity to an act of kindness, who knows if it will ever happen again. "Never lose an opportunity of seeing anything beautiful, for beauty is God's handwriting."  - Unknown I came across this quote when a friend of mine shared it with a picture they had posted on Instagram. When I first read the quote it reminded me that even though life is full of missed opportunities, God always turns it into something beautiful. As it says in the quote beauty is God's handwriting, so when we are disappointed over the opportunities that we have lost God shows us that there is beauty in everything around us no matter what. He also shows us that there are more opportunities for us to do. Even when we miss an opportunity to help someone, remember that God always has other opportunities for yo

At This Very Moment

Image
At this very moment someone is sad. At this very moment someone is happy. At this very moment someone is dying. At this very moment someone is born. Every moment of every day someone is doing something. No matter what part of the world you are in, someone is always doing something. Good or bad it is still something. But is it the right something that we are supposed to be doing at that moment? Knowing what God wants me to do with my life is something that I have a hard time accepting, because I don't know what it is that I am supposed to be doing. Recently I came across this quote that I have had saved on my computer for a while and it fits with accepting that God knows what he is doing with my life. "You are where God wants you to be at this very moment. Every experience is part of His divine plan." Because someone else had put the text on a picture, I put it as the background picture for my computer so that I have it as a constant reminder that God knows what

Foggy Night

Back in November I started writing a poem I called " Foggy Night ," but I had only written the firs two stanzas, even though Amanda said that I needed to finish it. Well I didn't follow her advise until yesterday when the thick fog we had in the morning inspired me a bit to finish it. So here is the completed poem of "Foggy Night." It was a foggy night And things were hidden From sight. Frosting up windows with dew. Hard to see But easy to hear. Thickly rolled the fog. Through the fog things appeared. When they appeared  they quickly disappeared from sight. As the fog rolled though People stayed in, and few bravely ventured out into the late night fog. By mornings light the fog slowly started to disappear. In the afternoon light the fog has disappeared from sight never to return.

Scavenger Hunt + Photography = Sounds Like Fun Part II

Image
Remember the post I did during July last year that I talked about a photography themed scavenger hunt ? If you don't remember it that its fine, because I almost didn't remember what month I had posted it it. It took me a couple months, *cough* because I forgot about it for a little while *cough*, but it is finished. Since I just posted all of the pictures that I took on Facebook I decided to compile them all into a couple collages so that it would be easier to share on here. If you are interested in doing the scavenger hunt yourself the list can be found here . Out of all of the different photo a day challenges that I have done, I liked this one the best. I liked the scavenger hunt the best because you can do it whenever you feel like it and because you aren't bound to one specific month at a time, even though the other photo challenges were fun to do. Collage 1: Something red, Something to eat, Something clean, Something sharp, Something blue, Something that moves, So

4 Down and 120 Across

Because a 120 letter word would be a bit hard to remember how to spell correctly all of the time, there typically aren't any words that long. And no this isn't a crossword puzzle. Instead this is a post on one of my favorite topics: knitting!!!!!! Since I have a lot of yarn sitting around and collecting dust, I wanted to make something with it. After thinking about it and looking at the color options that I have, I decided to make a relatively neutral colored baby blanket. When finished I plan on giving the blanket away, though I don't know to who to give it to yet. The name of this post came about because I am creating my own pattern for this blanket. I love the way that the stockinette stitch looks, but hate how the edges usually curl under when finished, so I am creating a border for the blanket by doing the rib stitch around the edges to keep the blanket from curling under. The way that I am doing the blanket is that it is 120 stitches across, the length is current
