Hello, my name is Megan and welcome to my small corner of the web!

I am a twenty-something Catholic, Feminist college graduate, who still lives at home. Outside of work and school, I enjoy reading, writing, photography, knitting, baking, and watching movies and tv shows with my family.

Back in November of 2009, I had started a different blog called "Shieldmaiden of God" and I had it up until the summer of 2013 when I decided to start over with this blog. The name for this blog is taken from a quote by Pope Francis: "Ask Jesus what he wants from you and be brave!" 

While I don't have a particular favorite movie or TV show I do enjoy watching them alone or with friends and family. I don't really have a favorite movie or book, though there are two book series that I do enjoy reading and they are The Fairy Tale Novel series by Regina Doman and The Castaways series by Brian Jaques.

While I am not a terribly crafty person I do enjoy knitting and I have made a variety of projects. I taught my self to crochet a tiny bit by watching a couple youtube videos. Every great once in a while I enjoy painting something, though I am not the greatest at it.

Now that you know a little bit about me and my blog, I hope that you enjoy reading what I have to say.

  Too often, we get caught up in this need for perfection. It comes to a point where everything has to be in specific spots or look a certain way. With every I dotted, and T crossed, with every strand of hair in place. If that doesn't happen, then it is considered disorganized and messy. But what we forget is that there is no such thing as perfect.  Because of our need for everything to be perfectly ordered, we forget that it is okay to have things get messy. When we have everything in perfect order, it can often feel like a sterile environment where nothing wants to grow. Leaving the occasional mess by the kitchen sink or toys thrown across a bedroom floor is a sign of life.  Oftentimes, I think constant perfection is also a need for control. It is crucial to treat others with kindness and understanding; in the same way we want to be treated.
