My Confession

I have been blind, unwilling to see The true love you're giving. I have ignored every blessing. I'm on my knees confessing I was originally going to do this post closer to Good Friday but then I changed my mind and decided to post this now. A while ago I remember hearing someone say that Josh Groban's song "My Confessions," besides being a love song, could be taken into a Catholic/Christian point of view. And last night as I was leaving Adoration parts of the song just started playing through my head and I knew that I wanted to try and write an analogy of sorts. So here is my attempt at that. That I feel myself surrender Each time I see your face. I am staggered by your beauty, Your unassuming grace. And I feel my heart is turning, Falling into place. I can't hide it Now hear my confession. To me the song is about finding Christ again and telling him our confession and how, like at the  beginning  of the song, we have been blind and unwilling  the tru...

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY! Tada!

Image
My apologies for the title being in pretty much all caps. Like I mentioned the other day about the title of Thursday's post working better for this one, the title that I have works even better because it is my birthday! Though I don't really like to publicize my birthday on the internet I decided to do it for today's 7 posts, 7 days thing since I had nothing else to do for today. Besides getting to quote "Tangled" for this post I get to share my birthday with a dear friend of mine. It was kind of funny how my friend "R" and I found out that we shared the same birthday. We had met at a week long Catholic girl's summer camp and one day during lunch the camp coordinator had all of the months separate into tables according to the month that their birthday is in. So as the March tables were waiting to get their lunch we were going around the tables saying when our birthdays were and that is how R and I found out that we share the same birthday, as...

The 5 Love Languages

Last night during a talk that was given at a young adult group that I attend occasionally the subject of the 5 Love Languages was brought up and gave me the idea for today's post. There is an online test that you can take to figure out what your love language is and it can be found here . Just like everyone has a main and secondary temperament (Choleric, Sanguine, Melancholic, Phlegmatic) they can also have a main and secondary love language as well. My love language is "Quality Time" and my secondary one is "Words of Affirmation".  There are also a couple books about the 5 Love Languages (spouse/children, etc.) that were written by Gary Chapman which you can check out here . Here are the descriptions of the 5 Love Languages. Quality Time In Quality Time, nothing says “I love you” like full, undivided attention. Being there for this type of person is critical, but really being there—with the TV off, fork and knife down, and all chores and tasks on standb...

The Story of My Life

Today I was going to write a post about how life isn't always awesome and that sad things happen but then I decided to change it since I didn't like how the post sounded when I had started writing it in my head. Even though the title of this post would work better for the one I am writing for Sunday I decided to use it for this post instead. In the couple days that I have been participating in the 7 posts, 7 days I have come up with several post ideas to talk about but never actually did because I didn't know what to say exactly. Since this is another random post here is a 30 minute quiz that a friend of mine shared on Facebook that will tell you which side of your brain is more dominant. The two times I took the test it said that I use the left half of my brain more than the right side. My mom said that she was left sided as well when she took the test. With yesterday and today's posts I picked the names of songs to uses as the titles for the posts and they don...

Everything is Awesome

For today's post I was tossing around the idea of writing a post on either laziness (inspired by a conversation that my family had the other day on the topic) or bragging. I had also decided to write a post about my family but then I changed my mind on that as well, so now I am just writing a random post instead. Last night I watched the first episode of "Psych" and it was interesting. I found this on Pinterest the other day and I thought that it was kind of funny so I decided to share it here. Day 1  and Day 2

Day 2

On Sunday the girls club that Rosy and Aaliyah are in had the family event part of the club. What the club does each year, during the school year, is the girls learn about a new country each year and usually in either January or February they invite the rest of the families to a dinner and "presentation" of what they have learned so far. Depending on the country that is being studied will depend on what the girls do. This year they have been studying the USA so the girls gave different speeches from different presidents as well as American poems and in between presentations we joined in the folk songs. It was fun. After we came home after that we watched the Closing Ceremony for the Olympics. I have to say that I liked South Korea's performance better then Russia's. Towards the beginning of the girls club event friends of ours, who we hadn't seen since March of last year, surprised us and a bunch of the other girls that they were friends with. Even though no one...
