Stuck In A Rut

Image
Lately, I have been a bit quiet on the blogging front for this blog. But that is partly because I am having a hard time finding something to write about. While that isn't all true I do have two blog posts that I started working on, but haven't finished yet because I got stuck with where to go next. On the blog have for " The Knit Potato " I put up two blog posts this week. So you are more than welcome to pop over and read them. I also plan on having another post or two up there soon. Photo by  amandaziphotography  on  Unsplash When I come in here to either write a blog post or poke around I always go to the Reading List page to see what the bloggers that I follow have written. Which is what I did before I started writing this post. So when I went in there the post at the top was written by an acquaintance of mine named Grace. The title of her post is called " A Summer Funk ," which is kind of what I am feeling at the moment. While I post a variety of ...

All Things Random

Image
In my last post , which I had mostly written ahead of time, I was going to post it at the end of June once I had given the blanket away. But as I said the blanket still isn't finished, I am still slowly working away at it, I decided to post and share about the blanket anyhow. Photo by  John-Mark Smith  on  Unsplash I would have shared my previous post sooner, as well as written one or two other posts, but my laptop decided that it was going to go kaput. Granted it was almost six years old and I kept forgetting to update my anti-virus software. So right now, until I can get a new laptop, I am limited to my cell phone, which I hate writing long things on, the computer my siblings share, my mom's old laptop or one of the computers at the library. It probably helped that I hadn't really thought of anything to write on here until now. When I first sat down at the library computer the other week I hadn't planned on sharing the last post, I was just going to try and w...

Taking it Slow

Image
Ever since I posted last month I have been at a loss as what to write next, especially since I am done doing the weekly photo challenge. As I tried to come up with an idea or two to write about I realized that it was okay if I didn't post that often and that posting sporadically is an okay thing to do. When I first started this blog, as well as my previous blog which I have since deleted, I realized that I was posting quite frequently about some of the most random stuff, which I occasionally still do. After I had that thought I decided that while I will still be posting here it will be more sporadic like it has been starting to be, and hopefully, that will give me time to think about things that I want to talk and share about on here. A while back I had collected a list of blogging prompts, a few of which I have already shared on here, so I might pull that out again and maybe come up with some more ideas so that I can continue to have some new ideas to post about. Of course, I w...

Perfect? It's Over Rated.

Image
Why is it that everyone is always getting hung up and stuck on the word perfect? What is so important about that particular word that we can't seem to let it go? When you look the word "perfect" in the dictionary, I used the American Heritage Dictionary, you get a list of different ways that the word "perfect" is used. Here is the list for what "perfect" means in the dictionary. per·fect    (pûr   f Ä kt) adj. 1.  Lacking nothing essential to the whole; complete of its nature or kind. 2.  Being without defect or blemish:   a perfect specimen. Just by reading the first two definitions, there are 12 definitions total, it is easy to see how the word is being used in society. And just because society is telling us that we need to be perfect in order to be happy doesn't mean that we have to go along. It is okay to be happy without being perfect at the same time. Besides no one is perfect and like it says in the title, perfect is over rated. ...

Hello, it's me

Image
No I didn't fall off the face of the earth. I just couldn't think of anything to post about for last week. But I did finish making the hat the my brother TJ had asked me to make him a while ago. It's nothing spectacular, but it is finished. Even though I am still slowly working on a blanket that I started two years ago, I don't have any other knitting projects going on at the moment. Since school is starting up again next week I won't have as much time to work on new knitting projects, though I might start working on something anyhow. Speaking of school, college starts up again next week. Like I have been in the past I am taking three classes this semester. One is an online class and the other two are in class. The classes that I am taking this semester are Microsoft Word II , General Psychology , and Advanced Document Formatting.  The Microsoft Word  and Document Formatting classes are continuations of two classes that I took back in the fall. Because of...

Life Stinks

Image
I was just reminded the other day that life stinks and that there really isn't a whole lot that we can do about it. Would it be nice if things went the way that we wanted them too? Sure it would be nice to have that happen. But life doesn't work like that and would we be truly happy? If life worked the way that we wanted it too, hardly anything would get done. Not to mention we would stop being happy with it all. Since having life go the way we want it to in order to be happy, what will make us happy? The answer to that question is fairly simple. In order to find true happiness in our lives we need to turn to God. When we turn to God and ask him for help we find ourselves on the road to finding true happiness. Will it be easy? No it won't be easy, but we just need to trust in God in order for it to start becoming a little bit easier each time. Of course if you don't ask God for help you won't be getting anywhere and life will still be stinking terribly. Onc...

Yet Another Knitting Project

Image
A while ago I decided to ditch the black and white blanket that I had been working on since January, because I was so fed up with trying to use it. So now I am working on yet another knitting project. This time it is a pillow case for a throw pillow. As usual, like, most of my ideas lately, I got the idea off of Pinterest. The website that I got the idea from is The Decorated Cookie , where the owner did a post back at the end of January this year with a bunch of different knitting projects and links to the original posts for those. The last one in the list was for knit pillows . After looking at the link and seeing that it was really easy to make I decided to give making a pillow case for a throw pillow. Using two skeins of yarn that I had already purchased for other previous projects I started making a pillow. I haven't bought the pillow that goes inside of the case yet, but I will probably get it soon. When I first started knitting this project the weather was still on ...

Running Around Like a Chicken with Its Head Cut Off

If I had a better name for this post I would have used it, but I don't, though the title still fits how I feel this week. Monday I was supposed to go to work at one o'clock since it was the last day of break for the kids that I nanny. But the mom had to switch part of her work schedule around and ended up taking the day off, but forgot to call me ahead of time. So I ended up getting the day off. Tuesday (Yesterday, depending on when you are reading this), I had school all day and then I had to go to work after that. I didn't get home until closer to 8 p.m. Since it was AJ's birthday yesterday I quickly ate the \Italian sausage and french fries, that my family had saved me for dinner, before we sang to him and had dessert. Wednesday I had to go to work at 10:30 because the dad had to go in to work early and the youngest kids that I watch is doing part time school right now. So I stayed with her for a little bit before I had to drop her off at school. Once she was ...

My Jumbled Thoughts

Image
Whenever we get ideas that we think are cool we always have to write them down right away or tell them to someone to see what they think. But whenever we go to expound upon the ideas more the words don't always come out the way that we want them too. In the past couple days I have come up with to ideas that I thought would make great blog posts but when I started writing and expounding on the ideas it didn't feel right. Maybe the right time for me to write and share those posts will come later down the road, since right now isn't the right time. Since I has probably said this many times before on here, I have a hard time coming up with things to write and post about on here, so I just normally complain about that and post about the weather. This is probably one of the few times that I have just talked about something other than the weather and my complaining. On Friday afternoon when I was waiting to pick up the kids that I nanny, from school I came up with two other i...
