Let Them

Image
"Let Them”  Author: Cassie Phillips Just Let them. If they want to choose something or someone over you, LET THEM. If they want to go weeks without talking to you, LET THEM. If they are okay with never seeing you, LET THEM. If they are okay with always putting themselves first, LET THEM. If they are showing you who they are and not what you perceive them to be, LET THEM. If they want to follow the crowd, LET THEM. If they want to judge or misunderstand you, LET THEM. If they act like they can live without you, LET THEM. If they want to walk out of your life and leave, hold the door open AND LET THEM. Let them lose you. You were never theirs because you were always your own. So let them. Let them show you who they truly are, not tell you. Let them prove how worthy they are of your time. Let them make the necessary steps to be a part of your life. Let them earn your forgiveness. Let them call you to talk about ordinary things. Let them take you out on a Thursday. Let them talk...

Foggy Night

Back in November I started writing a poem I called " Foggy Night ," but I had only written the firs two stanzas, even though Amanda said that I needed to finish it. Well I didn't follow her advise until yesterday when the thick fog we had in the morning inspired me a bit to finish it. So here is the completed poem of "Foggy Night." It was a foggy night And things were hidden From sight. Frosting up windows with dew. Hard to see But easy to hear. Thickly rolled the fog. Through the fog things appeared. When they appeared  they quickly disappeared from sight. As the fog rolled though People stayed in, and few bravely ventured out into the late night fog. By mornings light the fog slowly started to disappear. In the afternoon light the fog has disappeared from sight never to return.

Paris, Comics, Poetry, First Book in a Series...

After reading the title of this post you are wondering what those all have in common besides being books. Well every month my library has a row of shelves in the Adult section where they highlight a couple different types of books that they have. The themes for the month of April are: April in Paris Comic books Poetry  First Book in a Series So far the only theme section that I have found any interesting books in was "April in Paris." I am not a huge comic book or poetry fan so those themes didn't sound interesting. None of the books in the  "First Book in a Series" didn't jump out and grab my attention either. I just finished reading "One Evening in Paris." At first I felt like it moved a little slow, but then it picked up and didn't take me long to finish it once I got into it more. Because the two books that I had just read previously were set in the 1970's, I had it in my head that "One Evening in Paris" wa...

Foggy Night

It was a foggy night And things were hidden from sight. Frosting up windows with dew. Hard to see But easy to hear. Thickly rolled the fog. ------------------------------------- That is the only part of a poem that I started writing a week ago. I started writing it after I came home late from work one day and had to drive through some really thick fog. There was supposed to be more to the poem, but I ran out of ideas and then forgot about it. Since we moved into town and out of the country, I liked the fact the I wasn't driving through thick fog in complete darkness to get home. Even though the street lights helped some, it was still really foggy out. Although I did have the help of streetlights all the way home I still don't like driving at night in fog, or rain/wind. The very first time I had to drive through thick fog at night was a few days after I first got my license and I was the designated driver for when Amanda, Yavi and I went to choir practice on Mo...

Searching

Image
This is an original poem that I wrote and wanted to share on here. It's not the greatest thing ever written, but I hope you enjoy reading it. Searching high, Searching low, Turning left and right. What is it That I seek? Does it have a name? Surrounded by everything, But always alone. Somethings in the air, And ready to be found. Ready to find What can't be seen. Searching in circles I go round and round. Sight, smell, sound, taste, touch. With all five I search, For what I can't see. Does it have a name? Will I know what it is When I find it? No one knows and No one seems to care. Blindly I search, Until I can search no more. When I stop I hope to find What it is that I have Been searching for.
