Fantasy Book Title Generator

Image
Every great once in a while a fun name/book title generator will show up on my Facebook feed from one of the writing groups I am in. Sometimes the names that I get from these aren't the greatest. But I actually liked the name that I got from this Fantasy book title generator and it is something that I would want to read if it was a real book. My generated Fantasy Book Title is "War of Evil Destiny." Not mine. I found it on Facebook.

Code Name: Kyle

We can all say that we have gotten sale flyers in the mail and/or in our email box at least once right? Of course we have. I get sale flyers emailed to me from Maurice, Payless Shoe Source, and Michael's. While they always end up in the trash bin, I always notice that the emails that I get from Payless always call me Kyle. Now you are probably wondering why they are calling me Kyle, when I am not a guy and my name doesn't even start with k. Well I am wondering the same thing, because it doesn't make sense to me. The last time that I was in Payless to buy shoes, the lady who was running the cash register asked me if the name Kyle was the correct one and I told her that it wasn't and I had thought that the problem was fixed. But I guess it wasn't, because when they emailed me a sale coupon for my birthday at the beginning of the month, it said Kyle. The only thing that I can think of as to where they are getting the Kyle from is that someone with the name had m...

What's in a Name?

Image
In 2011 I started working on a story idea that I had that was loosely based on the story of "The Frog Prince" and set in the West during the 1800's. While I liked the idea of having a retelling of a not very popular fairy tale it didn't really take off. Then in 2012 I went to a five day writing course that was given by one of my favorite authors. My idea was refined a bit more and placed in Medieval times and based on the story of St. George and the Dragon. Currently my story idea is a combination of King Arthur and St. George and the Dragon. With a little bit of the story of Moses possibly thrown in as well. Besides the ideas for my story changing all of the time, the name of my main girl character keeps changing as well. While I don't remember what her name was from 2011 - 2013, I do remember all of the names after that. For a while, in 2014, my main girl character's name was Xiomara, because I thought it was really pretty. But after a couple months i...

31 DBC: Meaning of My Business Name

Image
If they mean the name of a real business, then I have nothing because I don't run a business. Being a part-time nanny doesn't count. But it they mean the name of your blog and the story behind it then I at least have something there. Since I don't have a personal business to run I am going to go with the meaning of the name behind my blog. "Ask Jesus what he wants from you and be brave." - Pope Francis The name for my blog is taken from the above quote by the pope. And I believe that it is so true because no matter what we face in life we have to be brave. Because it we aren't brave then who would stand up for what is right? When I am not posting about knitting projects that I am currently working on, recipes or photography, I try to write posts that make people think. By writing and sharing those posts I am stepping outside of my comfort zone a little. So even if we are comfortable with doing and sharing many things there are many different ways for ...

7 Quick Takes Friday

--- 1 --- Though I haven't started making it yet I found a pattern for a afghan/blanket, which I mentioned in my quick takes from last week. The squares have been sitting in a pile for sine the beginning of last week. But I have started making different balls of all of the colors that I will be using for the blanket. Here is the link to the pattern that I will be using for the afghan! --- 2 --- --- 3 --- --- 4 --- Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy. Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love; for it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. --- 5 --- When I first starte...
