Code Name: Kyle

We can all say that we have gotten sale flyers in the mail and/or in our email box at least once right? Of course we have. I get sale flyers emailed to me from Maurice, Payless Shoe Source, and Michael's. While they always end up in the trash bin, I always notice that the emails that I get from Payless always call me Kyle.

Now you are probably wondering why they are calling me Kyle, when I am not a guy and my name doesn't even start with k. Well I am wondering the same thing, because it doesn't make sense to me. The last time that I was in Payless to buy shoes, the lady who was running the cash register asked me if the name Kyle was the correct one and I told her that it wasn't and I had thought that the problem was fixed.

But I guess it wasn't, because when they emailed me a sale coupon for my birthday at the beginning of the month, it said Kyle. The only thing that I can think of as to where they are getting the Kyle from is that someone with the name had my cell phone number before me and had shopped at Payless and then just never went back once they changed their number. I had forgotten that the emails from Payless were calling me Kyle until the one arrived for my birthday, of course I forgot about it again until the other day when a reminder email came through that the sale flyer was ending.

The next time that I go to get shoes at Payless, I need to remember to ask them to change the name with my phone number/email address from Kyle to my name.
