Oh Nuts

This is the first pattern that I ever used when I first learned how to knit. And I am a little surprised that I still had the pattern. Because for a while I didn't know where I had put it and thought that I had thrown it out. But I found it again and it is being stored in my pattern binder along with the rest of them. While it might look a little disheveled now I still have the scarf that I made with this pattern. Although the label is from a Red Heart Super Saver yarn label I made my scarf with Lion Brand Homespun yarn. Even though it is a beginner pattern I thought I would share it here because it knits up really easy and looks pretty, so it will make great Christmas or birthday presents. Red Heart © Super Saver®: 3 ½ ounces 319 Cherry Red Knitting Needles: 5.5mm [US 9] Yarn Needle Gauge: 17 sts = 4"; 25 r = 4" in pattern. Check your gauge. Use any size needles to obtain the gauge. --- 1 --- I was going to say something about school and how it was closed for President's Day and for something on Tuesday, but I wasn't sure if it was going to sound like I was complaining. So I decided not to write it and just explain what I was originally going to write instead :) --- 2 --- This past Saturday I went ice skating for this first time in five years. I went with Amanda, Aaliyah, Yavi and Yavi's friend S. Though I wasn't moving terribly fast on the ice I still had fun. It was S's first time skating since she is from Gahna. --- 3 --- As usual we were watching the Olympics on Sunday evening and the bobsledding was really interesting to watch. --- 1 --- Since this is my first 7 Quick Takes Friday post of the year I decided to start this weeks off by saying that I officially have bought all of my books for school!! Now I just need to get binders and the rest of the things that go with it (except for a backpack since I already have that). --- 2 --- New Years Eve we went over to a friends house to celebrate (it was combined with the cast and crew party for the play that four of my siblings were in at the beginning of December).
