Tea and Yarn

Image
On Thursday Amanda, Aaliyah and I were out and stopped in at an adorable shop called Betsy's Yarn and Tea Shop . They had a large assortment of teas and a collection of tea pots and cups/saucers in different colors. There was also a selection of yarns there. Of course I pretty much went straight to the yarn, while Amanda went for the tea pots. After looking through the yarn that they had I found a color that I really liked! This is the yarn that I bought, though I haven't decided on what I am going to make with it. http://www.berroco.com/ The tea that I bought is part of a collection, called Be Active Teas, that is sold at the store, and is distributed The Republic of Tea. I got Get Burning: Herb Tea for Metabolism,  and it is Hot Cinnamon Ginger. Since cinnamon is supposed to help with weight loss and I really like cinnamon flavored stuff, I thought it was the perfect kind for me to get. Besides the tea being cinnamon, it can be served as a hot tea or as iced tea depe...

Today is one of those fall days where you just want to stay inside and drink tea. Especially fall flavored tea. Today's 58 degree weather and 19 to 20 mile an hour winds makes it one of the best days to wear a sweater.  The sweater is from Kohl's It is also one of those days where you just want to sit inside all day and read books.

7 Quick Takes Friday

--- 1 --- I know that last week I said that this weeks 7 quick takes would just be the pattern that I used to make the backpack. Well I decided to not do that because it sounded kind of boring to me.  --- 2 --- This past Saturday, Yavi had a small dance performance at our church. Though my family and I had seen the dance they were performing already we still went. Yavi wanted me to video the dance on my camera, since we had't gotten the entire dance on video the first time they did it, but I forgot to grab my camera before we left and didn't remember until we got to the church. But someone else was videoing it instead. Afterwards we all went out for ice cream at Culver's. The dance that they did was based on the story of The Prodigal Son  (Luke 15: 11-32), though they changed it to The Prodigal Daughter  since all of the dancers doing it were girls. --- 3 --- A friend of ours who hadn't been able to see the dance before came over to my house and we spent ...

7 Quick Takes Friday

--- 1 --- --- 2 --- --- 3 --- On Tuesday Roseycheeks had a tea party with a bunch of her friends for her tenth birthday. Though I had to work they all had a good time :) Since it is a tradition since we started having tea parties for all of us girls on our tenth birthdays she also had all of the girls who came bring flowers for a friendship bouquet. Here are pictures that I took of the flowers :) --- 4 --- On Wednesday I had a doctor's appointment so my mother and I went to morning mass together and then drove to the office. Since we were a bit early we stopped at Caribou Coffee and got something. I had the Carrot Cake Muffin, which was delicious, and their cold Peach black tea, with sparkling water, you could get it with non sparkling water as well ;), that was good as well. My mom got a coffee and a raspberry scone. There was a cute looking tea shop next door but both my mother and I agreed that the tea shop that's closer to us is cuter....
