Winning Camp With A Slight Upper Respiratory Infection

Now you are probably scratching your heads and wondering what I mean by that very random title that I used for this post. Well, if you have seen some of my posts, then you know that I have participated in what is called National Novel Writing Month , or NaNoWriMo for short, for a while in November. Since July 2011, the same people who put on NaNoWriMo during November started what is called Camp NaNoWriMo . The first two years that they did Camp NaNo they had them back to back in July and August of 2011 and 2012. Now they do it in April and July so that people can participate in both if they want while still having time to plan everything. Since Camp NaNo started I have been participating on and off since April 2013 and hadn't ever won any of them. Now back in November, I mentioned that I won the regular NaNoWriMo and I am happy to announce that I have won the July 2019 Camp NaNo. While the story that I have been working on for the past month isn't finished yet, and I migh...

7 Quick Takes Friday

--1-- I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter! I did :) For as long as I can remember my family and I have tried to visit both sides of the family on Easter Sunday, but sometimes that doesn't end up happening. This year we went and visited my grandma in the evening on Holy Saturday. We had pizza dinner and watched the movie "Groundhog Day" on the tv since it was on. It was a funny movie. On Sunday we went to mass at our church and then came home and had my other grandparents over for dinner. After dinner and the dishes were done most of us went on the traditional walk that we take. And if you haven't read it yet here is a more accurate description of what my life has been like this week since Sunday. --2-- This is what the sanctuary of our church looked like on Easter! This is from our after dinner walk :) --3-- Well I decided to do Camp NaNoWriMo this month and I am doing ok in my writing. While it still needs some work before it...

7 Quick Takes Friday

--1-- This week was my spring break. Even though break started off with a round of snow, this week hasn't been that bad. Especially since I consider my spring break to have started on Friday last week, since I am only going two days out of the week.  --2-- To start of my break, on Saturday afternoon, Aaliyah, Rosie, and I went with some of Aaliyah's friends to the movie theater to see "Cinderella." We all loved it. Then in the evening, Amanda, Yavi and I went out to dinner with some friends to celebrate Amanda's birthday. After dinner, since Amanda and two of the friends we went out with hadn't seen it yet,  we decided to go to the movie theater down the street to see "Cinderella." Even though I had just seen the movie I still enjoyed it. --3-- Tomorrow I am going out swing dancing. There is a ballroom about an hour away from where I live and they regularly do swing dancing there and tomorrow is their annual Swinger's B...

7 Quick Takes Friday

--- 1 --- On Saturday I went and saw "Divergent" with Amanda and Yavi. Some spoilerish stuff in case you haven't read the book or seen the movie. Though we all enjoyed it and thought that it was pretty faithful to the book we all a little disappointed that they took out Christina and Will's relationship and Four and Tris taking the hardrive thingy at the end of the book because those are part of the plot line of the second book. I also noticed that the Erudite people didn't have glasses like they did in the book. --- 2 --- Well spring break is over now and school is underway. But on the bright side there are only a couple more weeks left of the semester! Of course not having any homework or classes for a week meant that I sat on my computer most mornings playing 'Solitaire.' --- 3 --- If anyone has any ideas for posts that I could write up so that I am not just doing 7 Quick Takes and Themed Thursday please leave a comment with your idea(s). ...

7 Quick Takes Friday

--- 1 --- Last week Friday, my mom, Yavi, Rosalind and myself got to see Regina Doman and her husband Mr. Andrew again. It was nice to see them. They were in town for a homeschool conference in our area. Once it closed for the night on Friday we went out for ice cream together. Though it took us a couple minutes to find a parking space. We had just walked out of the parking garage and gotten under the awnings from the stores and it starts pouring rain. So we had to wait about twenty minutes for it to stop raining. But we finally got to Coldstone Creamery and ice cream. --- 2 --- The weather last week and this week has been rather crazy and not very July. Since it has been in the 70's and 60's it has felt more like fall than summer. On Sunday Yavi said that the weather made her want to start school again. It is interesting how one week it was in the uper 90's then goes to the 60's and 70's the following week. --- 3 --- On Wednesday last week Amanda, Ya...
