NaNo Prep Time Days 26 - 30

Image
Here is the last few days of NaNoWriMo's Prep Time Instagram challenge!!! Day 26: Paradox I was a little lazy on this one and just found a quote with a paradox in it. Day 27: Where/When in the World Some of the characters in my story for NaNo are from Greece. Day 28: Fresh Air Again I cheated a little on this one because this is a picture that I took back  on my family's vacation last month. Day 29: Suddenly... For this one, I was having a hard time coming up with something until I found this song called "Suddenly" on YouTube the other night. And the section of lyrics that I took a picture  of goes with the last day's prompt. Day 30: Time To Write While @nanowrimo doesn't officially start for another month I will be taking this time  to write an outline and organize my thoughts for the story that I want to write.

NaNo Prep Time Days 20 - 25

Image
Here is days 20 - 25 of NaNoWriMo's prep time Instagram challenge #InstaWrimo. taken by me Day 20: The Sands of Time My original idea was something completely different and a little goofier.  But the Warren Dunes in Michigan works instead. Day 21: Novel Dedication Since none of my stories are finished or have dedications, I am borrowing the dedication from  a book called "A Chimney Sweepers Come to Dust" by Alan Bradley. Day 22: Banned Book There are a lot of books out there that are considered banned.  So I just had to pick out one. Day 23: Cliffhanger When I first read this prompt, I was going to do something on the sarcastic side, but I couldn't think of anything. Until I remembered that any good book series ends on a cliffhanger in one of the books. Day 24: Living Literature This was another one that I had a hard time finding something for. My first idea was to find a biography, then I decided to chan...

NaNo Prep Days 15 - 19

Here is the next round of pictures for NaNoWriMo's Prep Time Instagram Challenge.  Day 15: Plot Twist  Since anything can become a plot twist, these kids number and shape cards make a great plot twist by organizing them into a pile and then pulling one or more off the top and incorporating the number(s) and object(s) into the scene that you are writing. Day 16: Novelist Music  These are two of my writing playlists and there is a variety of music on both of these as well as my other playlists so that I don't get tired of listening to the same songs. Day 17: Main Character  Since I am still in the early stages of planning out my novel for @nanowrimo this is what I currently imagine my main character to look like. Day 18: Cast Your Villain In my head, the villain for the idea I am doing is more of a mean girl rather than a villain.  But that could change.   Day 19: Cast a Supporting Character A supporting characte...

NaNo Prep Days 9 - 14

I am slowly catching up with the next round of pictures for NaNoWrimo's Prep Time Instagram challenge. You can follow my writing Instagram account at @megan_writes3294. Day 9: Oops! - For this, I just used the Shamrock plant that is in my house because this is something that it does throughout the year. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Day 10: Outline/Novel sketch - Since I am bad at planning/outlining my novels here is a picture of the word doc that I started to collect reference for my story. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Day 11: Fur Baby - Because Sully is the only pet in the house he gets to be featured again! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Day 12: New nanowrimo.org profile screenshot - Although this is a screenshot I am counting it. I was also at a writing event that my home region for NaNo was hosting.  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Day 13: Time Piece - Since I wasn't entirely sure what to do for this prompt. Here is a picture of a clock that I found on Google. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Day 14: Cover Art - I am still in the early planning for my NaNo story so t...

NaNo Prep Days 1-8

Image
It's that time of year again where I slowly start talking about National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) again. While I might not reach the target word goal of 50,00 words each year I still enjoy doing it. Because it challenges me to write something that I don't think is that great. And while I am a little behind in sharing the pictures to my writing Instagram, I decided to share the pictures from the first eight days that I did for NaNoWriMo's Instagram challenge. NaNoWriMo.org Day 1: Past/Future - When I first read this prompt I wasn't sure what to do for it. But then I decided to use the book I was reading at that moment. Especially because "The Alice Network" goes between two different time periods for two fo the characters. So it is the past for one person and the future for another. Day 2: Shelfie - This one was easy to do since there are numerous bookshelves in the house. But the one pictured is the one in my room, which I am slowly...

#InstaWrimo Days 25 thru 30

Image
Well, today is the last day of the #InstaWrimo prep month and I have enjoyed doing it all month and sharing the pictures with everyone here. If I haven't already I apologize if it seems like I am bombarding people with stuff for NaNoWriMo . But that is my "theme" right now since I don't know what else to write about at the moment. Of course, I will try to come up with other topics that aren't just about NaNoWriMo. Anyhow enough with my rambling, because here are the last six pictures as well as the links backs to the intro and days 1-6 , days  7-12 ,  days 13-18 and days 19-24 . Day 25: Theme song for your MC  While I don't have a specific theme for my male MC I think this sums up part of what he goes through in my novel. Day 26: What's in your MC's pocket?  In my MC's pocket is earbuds, a rosary, nail clippers, chapstick, a pen, a small notebook, a St. Anthony medal, and a St. Joseph medal. Day 27: Outli...

#InstaWrimo Days 19 thru 24

Image
Just in case you missed it in my last two posts but here is the link to the post that I did with an explanation of what #InstaWrimo is with days 1 thru 6, and then the posts with days 7 thru 12 and days 13 thru 18 respectively. So here are days 19 thru 24. Day 19: Overheard Dialogue  This is something that I said to my brother while at the aquarium today (the 19th). Me: Anthony look its electric!  Brother: *starts singing the Electric Slide* Day 20: Map (any kind)  This map is of the downtown area in a city near me and  I thought that it would work for my novel. Day 21: Outdoor Setting  While it's not the outdoor setting for my novel, I took these pictures in DC  back  in May when I was there visiting (Yes you get 2 pictures today). Day 22: Seasonal Changes  The trees haven't started changing yet, so I am using a picture that I took last year. Day 23: Mysterious Object  While the obj...

#InstaWrimo Days 13 thru 18

Image
Here are days 13 thru 18 for the #InstaWrimo prep that I am doing to prepare for  NaNoWriMo  this year. To check out days 1 thru 6 and an explanation  here is the link  to the post and days 7 thru 12 here . Day 13: Working Title  My working title came about late one night while I was listening to the song  " Shadows of the Night " by Pat Benatar and I thought that it would make a good novel title. Day 14: Author signature  Normally my signature is a lot bigger than this, but I decided to try writing it smaller.  It still looks like a mess. Day 15: NaNo support crew  My NaNo support crew is all of my knitting projects because I can still be creative  while taking a break from writing. (Don't worry my family is my support crew as well) Day 16: Cast your main character(s)  I don't really have any actors etc. that I would want to portray my MCs but here  is what I imagine they l...

#InstaWrimo Days 7 thru 12

Image
Here are days 7 thru 12 for the #InstaWrimo prep that I am doing to prepare for NaNoWriMo this year. To check out days 1 thru 6 and an explanation here is the link to the post. I will be sharing compilation posts every six days so that I am not bombarding and boring people by a post every day (it is also easier to do it that way). If you haven't followed me yet or didn't know I had it, my writing-related Instagram account is megan_writes3294. Day 7: Doodle or Scribble.  I did a little bit if doodling and scribbling today, though I cheated and used a stencil. In case it's hard to read, the words are the first line from the song "Shadows of the Night" by Pat Benatar. Day 8: Favorite Word. I know it's only supposed to be one favorite word, but I couldn't decide between which one was my most favorite so I included all three. Day 9: Lucky charm  My lucky charm is my dog because he is always there when you need a cuddle and som...

It's NaNo Prep Time

Image
As you probably all know by now I have been doing NaNoWriMo for the past few years now and every year I write a post or two on it. Well here is this year's obligatory NaNo post, but I will be doing it a little bit differently today. found on Facebook The reason why it is a little different this year is that myself and the large NaNoWriMo Facebook group are doing #InstaWrimo, which can be found in the picture on the left. Today is day 6 of #instawrimo and I have managed to keep up with that so far, but we will see how well that works later in the month, especially when I get a new job. While I don't have the plot for my novel this year completely worked out I do have some ideas that I want to incorporate, I just need to iron them out and organize them. To go with the ideas that I have my working title is "Shadow of the Night." In the meantime, while I go figure out my novel ideas here are the pictures that I have taken so far for #instawrimo and I hope tha...
