Taking it Slow

Image
Ever since I posted last month I have been at a loss as what to write next, especially since I am done doing the weekly photo challenge. As I tried to come up with an idea or two to write about I realized that it was okay if I didn't post that often and that posting sporadically is an okay thing to do. When I first started this blog, as well as my previous blog which I have since deleted, I realized that I was posting quite frequently about some of the most random stuff, which I occasionally still do. After I had that thought I decided that while I will still be posting here it will be more sporadic like it has been starting to be, and hopefully, that will give me time to think about things that I want to talk and share about on here. A while back I had collected a list of blogging prompts, a few of which I have already shared on here, so I might pull that out again and maybe come up with some more ideas so that I can continue to have some new ideas to post about. Of course, I w...

Crossing the Finish Line

Image
I am graduating! Which is a little weird because I have been so used to having school and homework pretty much all day, every day for the past four years. It was a little weird not signing up for classes for the coming Fall semester. While I will miss having the structure of classes, work and homework I am ready to graduate and move on. This semester the class I was worried the most about passing was the Intro to Accounting class that I had to take. I was worried because I have a hard time with math and the only time the class was offered was at 8:00 a.m. three days a week for fifty mins each day. So that combination made it a little hard to concentrate sometimes. But I was able to pass the class with a "C" grade, which is a good thing because I am graduating this week, Friday to be exact and I need to pass all of my classes in order to do so. The other two classes I am not as worried about because my Intro to Photoshop class is pretty easy because for the final we jus...

Lots of Yarn

Image
Back in September, I wrote a post on one of my many knitting projects, with this particular project being a Ten Stitch Blanket that I am making from balls of yarn left over from previous projects, etc. Well, today I was able to get more yarn, for free, for the blanket so that I can continue to add to it. <---- The stash for the blanket with the new yarn added to what I still had on hand. As you can see from the picture I have a lot of yarn for this blanket, and that is not counting the couple of balls that I had already set aside to use once I am finished with the purple that I am adding to the blanket. I may have mentioned this group once or twice before but at the library across from my house there is a small cafe inside of it and once a week on Wednesdays, they meet there twice from 9-12 and 5-8 to knit, crochet, embroider, etc. And once a year they have what they call a Stitch-In and what it is is one Saturday in May, which happened to be today, they get together from ...

40 Week Recap

Image
The beginning of the month marked the end of the 40 Week Photography challenge , though I ended up spreading it out more because I skipped a couple weeks. When I originally started writing this post in my head there was more than I wanted to say about doing the challenge, which it was some weeks, but now I don't remember what it was that I was going to say, which was going to be a lot more than this, but that's beside the point. Since I can't remember what else I was going to say here is a list of all 40 weeks. taken by me in Jamestown, RI Week 1 -  10:36 Week 2 -  Books Week 3 -  Black and White Week 4 -  Favorite Color Week 5 -  Street Week 6 -  Feet Week 7 -  Forks Week 8 -  Green Week 9 -  Key Week 10 -  One Thing You Can't Live Without Week 11 -  Pattern Week 12 -  Shoes Week 13 -  Smile Week 14 - Something Up Close Week 15 -  Something in Your Fridge Week 16 - Something Old Week ...

Decorative Pillows

Image
This is one of the easiest projects that I have done, but it is also one of the longest that I have taken to finish. This project started out as a blanket for my sister to take with her to college, but I didn’t finish it before she left (one of the squares still isn’t finished yet). Since I still wanted to use the four squares that I had already made my other sister suggested that I turn them into pillows. It took me a little while to get around to it, but I finally sewed the four completed squares together and made two small pillows for my sister and her fiancee to use in their home once they are married. I am planning on using the last two squares, one of which is still unfinished, to make either one more small pillow, with each square being a different color, or making two super small pillows out of each square, I still haven't decided yet but I will get to that eventually. They were pretty easy to make since each square used an entire skein of Lion Brand Wool-Ease in Den...

Good Friday

Stabat Mater 1. At the cross her station keeping,  stood the mournful mother weeping,  close to Jesus to the last  2. Through her heart, his sorrow sharing,  all his bitter anguish bearing,  now at length the sword had passed.  3. Oh how sad and sore distressed  was that mother highly blessed,  of the sole-begotten One!  4. Christ above in torment hangs;  she beneath beholds the pangs  of her dying glorious Son.  5. Is there one who would not weep,  whelmed in miseries so deep  Christ's dear Mother to behold?  6. Can the human heart refrain  from partaking in her pain,  in that Mother's pain untold?  7. For the sins of His own nation  saw Him hang in desolation,  all with bloody scourges rent.  8. Bruised, derided, cursed, defiled,  she beheld her tender child,  till His Spirit forth he sent.  9. ...
