7 Quick Takes Friday
Lent has started and this year I am giving up snacks, sweets (except for birthdays and Holy Days) as well as trying to exercise more. I will do my best to let you know how it is going. :)
As I am sure you saw by my post on Sunday that it was my birthday at the beginning of the week. Besides what I talked about in my post that day Amanda and I went out to dinner on Saturday night with two cousins. It was a lot of fun. For dinner we went to "FlatTop Grill" and the food was amazing, especially if you like stir fry. The place that we went to for dessert is one of the best chocolate places ever! In the menu the first two pages list all of the different hot chocolates that they do as well as chocolate lattes and mochas. Not to mention they make amazing desserts. They also have a small store attached where you can by a bunch of different candies.
Words to live by.
Last week I decided to not do a 7 Quick Takes Friday since I was participating in the 7 posts, 7 days that was hosted by Jen on her blog Conversion Diary. Though it was fun to do it was also a bit of a challenge for me because I had a hard time coming up with what to write each day.
For the past two weeks several family members, myself included, have been doing St. Louise de Montfort's "Preparation for Total Consecration" and I like doing it during the Lenten season because I feel like it helps me meditate better during the 40 days of Lent. Here is a link to the schedule of days if you decided to do the Consecration.
Last week my siblings picked up a Wii version of Monopoly and from the little bit that I have seen of the game, it is rather interesting. After playing the Wii version they had to pull out the board game that we have and start playing that as well, though they are playing games like that together it gets a little annoying at times because they like to argue about how different game related things.
After dessert on Sunday night I went and watched the Oscars with Amanda, Yavi and Aaliyah. Though I missed seeing the red carpet and the opening act I came down in time to see "Frozen" win for best animated picture. The picture *points below* was one of the best parts of the night, especially since Ellen DeGeneres crashed Twitter with it.

Ellen coming out dressed as Glinda was pretty funny as well.
