When it rains it pours
That was especially true tonight because there were several storms that rolled through. The rain started around 4:30 ish and then around 5:00 p.m. the sirens went off letting us know that stronger storms that included heavy winds, hail, and a possible tornado were approaching. Since I am at work we went downstairs into the basement to wait it out.
Even though a lot of the heavy stuff has gone past there is still a tornado watch, severe thunderstorm warning, and a couple flood advisories in effect for the moment. There is still a possibility for more heavy storms to come through overnight.
When I was younger didn't like storms at all. I would get really nervous when it stormed out, especially when there was a tornado involved. But I have stopped being scared/nervous of storms, though I still don't like them much, especially if I have to drive through them.
While we were sitting in the basement waiting for all of the heavy stuff to pass, the electronic devices were pulled out. I had pulled Netflix up on my laptop and started watching the collection of Disney Shorts that are on there, though I didn't finish.
Since I have to work late tonight I brought my laptop with me as well as one of my school books and notes for one of my classes to work on some homework. Once we came upstairs again, the plan was to start working on homework. Obviously that hasn't happened yet, because I wrote this blog post. But that is besides the point.
While we were sitting in the basement my mom sent me a picture of a prayer that we always pray when there is a bad storm and I said it out loud at work and it helped calm down one of the kids that I work with. I don't know who wrote it but it is in the Pieta prayer book and it is called "Prayer or Blessing Against Storms." When my family and I pray it we make the Sign of the Cross at each pause.
Jesus Christ a King of Glory has come in Peace. † God became man, † and the Word was made flesh. † Christ was born of a Virgin. † Christ suffered. † Christ was crucified. † Christ died. † Christ rose from the dead. † Christ ascended into Heaven. † Christ conquers. † Christ reigns. † Christ orders. † May Christ protect us from all storms and lightning † Christ went through their midst in Peace, † and the Word was made Flesh. † Christ is with us with Mary. † Flee you enemy spirits because the Lion of the Generation of Judah, the Root David, has won. † Holy God! † Holy Powerful God! † Holy Immortal God! † Have mercy on us. Amen!
Well, that is all I have to say right now about the current weather. Thanks for reading and I hope that you enjoyed what I wrote and stay around for future posts.
