ProcrastiKNITing

Since you are probably wondering where I came up with the word "pocrastikniting" I will tell you. I found the word on a reusable tote bag from Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Store, which I now own and use to hold one of my current three and a half knitting projects.

Back in February, I had mentioned that I had gotten a free skein of a really pretty variegated green yarn that I wanted to use for a project. The project that I was going to use the yarn for was another baby blanket since I was almost done with the yellow blanket that I had started working on again. Of course when I went to go find more of the variegated yarn I couldn't find it. So I had to go with a different yarn. The yarn that I am using for the baby blanket is a pretty green called "Quicken Clove." And the brand is Patons Beehive Baby: Chunky. I found the yarn at Jo-Ann Fabric.

When I went to go check out I saw that Jo-Ann Fabric was selling reusable tote bags as a way to go green. There were several different patterns, one of them being knitting related. The bags were sold in two sizes, small ($1.59) and large ($1.99). Even though I didn't get one then I kept them in mind because I knew that I would probably be back to get more yarn. At the library across the street from my house, there is a cafe inside and on Wednesdays there is a group of ladies that meets from 9-12 in the morning and 5-8 in the evenings and anyone is invited to bring their knitting, crocheting, embroidery, and spinning. And two or three of the ladies have some of the tote bags from Jo-Ann Fabric.

After a while, I reached the end of the third skein of yarn that I had gotten for the baby blanket, which meant that I needed to get more yarn. Last week I finally went back to Jo-Ann Fabric to get two more skeins of yarn so that I could start working on the baby blanket again. While I was waiting to make my purchase I decided to get one of the smaller tote bags. The bag that I got says:

"ProcrastiKNITing: [proh-kras-ti-nit-ing] verb 1: to defer all other activities besides knitting."

Since I am a knitter I knew that it was my kind of bag. Right now I am using it to carry around the baby blanket since it is the right size for it.
