Garter Rib Baby Blanket
Since it's been a couple months since I last shared a knitting project, now is a good time for me to share one of the projects that I have been working on for a while. Anyhow back in November, we found out that one of my other cousin's was expecting their first, so I decided to make a blanket for the baby. When I started making the blanket I didn't know if they were going to wait to find out the gender or if they were going to find out right away so I pulled out the three skeins of pastel variegated yarn that I had and started working on the blanket.
The pattern that I used is called Garter Rib Baby blanket, which I found on Ravelry, and it is very easy to work with, though there were a few times where I accidentally started messing up the pattern but caught myself in time to fix it. The yarn that I used is called 'Playground' and the brand is Mary Maxim Baby Kashmere, and it took me all six skeins of yarn to complete it. And this is the first blanket that I have made to be given away that I have finished with nothing leftover.
After this project, I think I finally learned my lesson in the area of planning out how much yarn I'll need, or think I'll need before I start knitting any more projects. But that is another story that I will be sharing within the next few months.
With this project, I had received the first three skeins of yarn for free and thought that it would be enough to make a baby blanket with, there were three other skeins of the same yarn available for the taking but I didn't think to grab them off the table, silly me. But three ended up turning into six, which is probably a good thing since the skeins are on the slightly smaller side than what I normally use for projects, but I enjoyed working with it. Though next time I use this brand of yarn or any brand, in particular, I plan on having all of the yarn that I need before I started the project instead of getting it while I am working on it. Especially if I have to order it online.
So that is all I have to say on this project and I hope that you enjoy reading about the different knitting projects that I do and stick around for more projects that I share in the future as well as for the other posts that I write and share here.
