Random Thoughts

Over the past month, I have been trying to write a blog post about some of what's been going on with me since I really haven't done one of these types of posts in a while. I had some ideas of what I wanted to include in the post, but the words weren't wanting to come out the way that I wanted them too. But after this past weekend (March 3-4) I have found the words that I want to share.

The reason why I said that this past weekend helped to find what I wanted to say is that I went to a two-day woman's retreat, which was being hosted by the Catholic Church that is down the street from where I live, with my mom and my older sister Amanda. The retreat was different than the two silent retreats that I have been on before because some of the retreat leaders shared their witness stories and we talked about different aspects of our faith as well. On Sunday the priest did a teaching mass and explained what the different parts of the mass meant and how a lot of it comes from the bible. During the retreat, we each received a small stone with a bible verse on it and the verse that I received was what I needed to hear at that moment, especially since I will be graduating in May and will need to find another job.

"God can do all things." - Matthew 19:26

Now that I have that part out of the way like I just mentioned I will be graduating with my Associates of Applied Science as an Administrative Assistant in May. While I am ready to be finished with school I will miss coming because it has been a nice routine that I have enjoyed for the past four years, even though it's community college and only supposed to take two years to complete.

During the retreat, the thought to start a weekly Bible study was placed on my mind and didn't want to leave. So now I am praying about and how I want to accomplish this, whether it is something that I do on my own or with others. When the idea occurred I remembered that my family had a Bible Timeline seminar workbook and I just pulled it out to look through it. And when I was pulling it out I saw our copy of Jesus and the Jewish Roots of the Eucharist by Brant Pitre. I have read this book twice before but decided to pull it out again because I thought it would go well with the Bible study, especially when the Gospels are reached.

Those are all of my current random thoughts. If I have more I will probably write another post or two as they come up and I feel the need to share them. Of course, I will be finishing up the 40-week photo challenge and be doing a review post on that and I will be sharing other random things as well.
