Motivation Is...
Now, this is partially a lesson on why you must write things down as soon as you hear them and remember them. Because that is what happened to me the other day :P

So how does that pertain to motivation? Well, let me tell you. Several weeks ago I started going to therapy and in one of my most recent sessions, the topic of motivation was brought up during our conversation. Now about the word motivation, my therapist said something along the lines of "Motivation is a choice." While I don't remember the exact wording that was used I really liked what she said and in my head, I was like I should write this down so I don't forget it. But I didn't write it down and I, naturally, forgot what the exact wording was. There was another thing that she said as well that I really like and that was also not written down and therefore forgotten. Because that is just how my brain works right now.
But she isn't wrong, because motivation is a choice that we have to make for ourselves. Because we are choosing whether or not we are going to do something. It could be anything from cleaning the house to doing the grocery shopping. While I am sure that there are people out there that enjoy doing both examples, not everyone does, these are necessary choices that we are making. Sometimes we just need to start in the corner of a room and make our way across it cleaning, etc. And by doing that we are continuing to follow through and finish what was started.
Call it motivation if you want to, but just remember that it is a choice that is being made by you to get something done. And if starting with something small inspires you to keep going on to doing something else right after, go for it and it will make a difference.
