Oh Nuts

I have posted a randomly generated plots before, though I don't remember when I did it :P, I found the website, called Plot Generator , that I used and created another one and this one is just as funny as the first one. And while I don't remember when I shared the first one here, if I did that, I did remember to save it and print it out. I honestly don't remember exactly when I came up with the idea for this project, but once it showed up it didn't want to leave. Part of how this project came to me is that I had purchased the wood at Michael's for something else that ended up not working with the piece. Since I had already removed the packaging I couldn't return it so I had to think of something else to use it for. The picture I took and used. Again I don't remember how I exactly thought of this but I went with it anyhow. But since we have multiple stencils with the alphabet in different fonts on them I grabbed them out of the draw that they are stored in and then picked the one that I liked the best. After I traced the words onto the wood I plugged in the wood burner that we have and went to work burning the letters. This blanket started out as an idea that I based off of something similar that a friend of mine did. And the thought for this blanket came to me on Halloween of last year (2017) and I went with it though it took a little bit longer to actually form into a physical blanket. Since I wanted this to be a surprise for my sister and her husband, I knew that I wouldn't be able to make it all myself. So I enlisted the help of my grandma and some friends to make some squares for the blanket. I also made a bunch for the blanket as well don't worry ;). Originally it was supposed to be finished in time for my sister's bridal shower back in April, but that didn't happen. The day before the shower I went over to my grandma's house to start sewing the squares together so that my sister wouldn't be able to see it. Just recently I was at a talk and at the beginning of the talk the speaker had everyone stand up and introduce themselves to someone new and each person had to share a fun fact about themselves. After a minute or two we moved on to new people and shared a new fun fact with them. Once we had each talked to about four or five people everyone sat down again at their tables and the talk began. In my last post , which I had mostly written ahead of time, I was going to post it at the end of June once I had given the blanket away. But as I said the blanket still isn't finished, I am still slowly working away at it, I decided to post and share about the blanket anyhow. Back in January of last year one of my cousin's got engaged and I had the idea to make them a blanket, though I didn't know what yarn or pattern I wanted to use for it. Then in the middle of February/beginning of March I was at the library across the street hanging out with the Fiber Arts that meets there every week and one of the ladies there was giving away a bunch of free yarn and in the yarn was a plastic bag with three skeins of Mainstays Home 4-Ply Worsted yarn (colorway: Mountain Top) and I took it home. After having it sit in my room for several months of the yarn sitting in my room collecting dust, I finally found a pattern that I wanted to use the yarn for, along with a skein of white yarn that I had so that it went farther. The pattern that I found was the Log Cabin pattern. It is a really easy pattern to follow and you can do it with any type of yarn. Ever since I posted last month I have been at a loss as what to write next, especially since I am done doing the weekly photo challenge. As I tried to come up with an idea or two to write about I realized that it was okay if I didn't post that often and that posting sporadically is an okay thing to do. When I first started this blog, as well as my previous blog which I have since deleted, I realized that I was posting quite frequently about some of the most random stuff, which I occasionally still do. After I had that thought I decided that while I will still be posting here it will be more sporadic like it has been starting to be, and hopefully, that will give me time to think about things that I want to talk and share about on here. A while back I had collected a list of blogging prompts, a few of which I have already shared on here, so I might pull that out again and maybe come up with some more ideas so that I can continue to have some new ideas to post about.
