What Was I Thinking | The Day I Started Blogging

The day I first started blogging was November 8, 2009. Yes, that long ago, though it doesn't feel like it some times. My first blog, which has since been closed and deleted, was called "Shieldmaiden of God." Some of what I have shared here has been similar to what I had written there.

Part of the reason why I got into blogging was that my sister and a long time family friend both had blogs at the time and I enjoyed reading what they wrote. In the 4 years that I had my first blog, I had fun learning about creating a blog as well as finding a niche of sorts to write it. I believe credit for the name of my first blog goes to my older sister, but I don't remember if she came up with the exact wording or of she suggested some ideas and I created the wording. Either way, my first blog was called "Shieldmaiden of God."

When I first created this blog my original plan was to mainly share writing-related things. And while I still share anything writing-related that I do, that is obviously not the main focus. Shortly after I started this blog, I deleted my old blog because I was trying to change the focus and feel of what I was wanting to write and share. While I wish that I had saved all of the posts that I wrote, sometimes it is better to start over with a clean slate. Besides wanting to start over another reason why I started this blog and deleted my old one is because I created a new personal e-mail for myself and the old blog was tied to the e-mail address that I was no longer going to be using.

While I don't know how many people read my blog on a regular basis. I do know that I enjoy doing it. Even if I have a hard time coming up with topics to write about that aren't related to NaNoWriMo, knitting or photography. But I am working on that because I have three different pages with prompts on them. The title for this post came from one of the prompts that I found in my recent search. But it workes since I can never remember if I have shared the story of how I started blogging in the first place. In the meantime, I hope you stick around and enjoy what I have already written and what I plan on writing in the future
