It's The Little Things

I know that this is a bit of a cliche topic but it has been on my mind a bit lately. But this has been popping up in my head a lot lately. I think it is partially because we often miss out on the little things in life. An example of this that I recently had was the other weekend at a friends wedding. In the front inside flap of the program that they had for the ceremony the bride and groom had a little note asking that their guest become unplugged so that they could participate in the ceremony. With the exception of one or two people at the very end, all of the guests respected the wishes of the bride and groom and kept their phones away and participated in the ceremony.

While that is just one example of staying off of our phones, iPads, etc. I know that there are plenty more little things and moments that we can enjoy without having to capture it in a picture.

To me little moments means spending time with my family. Whether it is our conversations at dinner or watching a ridiculous movie together these are moments and memories that can't be captured in a picture. The little moments and things also include spending time with the little boy that I babysit. While I still have moments where I am on my phone or my laptop a lot, I do try to spend time with the people who are important to me.

At the place where I work, there are only three of us that work in the office and my boss is always sharing stories and whatnot with me and the other girl that is in the office. And I enjoy these moments because some of the stories that my boss shares are funny and we can laugh about them for a few minutes.

So it is moments like this that make life have meaning. It also creates a bond between you and the people that you interact with. Even if it is something as random as having a dance part with strangers to live music that is being played at a concert or on the corner of a busy street. So take the time to enjoy these moments off of a screen and with the people you are with.
