Nowadays it seems like everyone is trying to be the same. But that can't work well. The other day my mom, two siblings and my older sisters mother-in-law and brother-in-law had the opportunity to visit and pray at the tomb of Venerable Fulton J. Sheen down in Peoria. It was an amazing experience and is now the fouth saint/blessed/venerable that I have had the opportunity to pray in front of. The other three were St. Mary Magdalene, St. Maria Goretti and St. Padre Pio. Taken by me The picture on the top left is of Ven. Fulton Sheen's tomb and on the top right is a close up of the painting of our Lady of Czestochowa. On the bottom left is in the cathedral's adoration chapel where they also have several relics of different saints. Bottom right is information about Ven. Fulton Sheen. After praying in front of his tomb and visiting the relics in the adoration chapel we walked a block or two down the street to visit the Fulton Sheen museum, which was an amazing experience as well. Disconnect to reconnect. No, I am not talking about disconnecting and reconnecting your internet at home. I am talking about real people and spending time with them. Disconnect from your phones and try reconnecting with the people around you. Because there is so much out there on the internet that pulls people into it and it can impact them negatively. And depending on what they are focusing on, their focus on perfection will change. For some people, they are focusing on having the perfect body. While other people focus on having the perfect house. But we don't need to worry about being perfect. Another thing that people tend to focus on is making their problems disappear. And these problems stick around and are always with us. But there are things that we can do to change the problems that we have. Of course, how everyone goes about changing them depends on the person because we are all different and no one is the same. Now you are probably scratching your heads and wondering what I mean by that very random title that I used for this post. Well, if you have seen some of my posts, then you know that I have participated in what is called National Novel Writing Month , or NaNoWriMo for short, for a while in November. Since July 2011, the same people who put on NaNoWriMo during November started what is called Camp NaNoWriMo . The first two years that they did Camp NaNo they had them back to back in July and August of 2011 and 2012. Now they do it in April and July so that people can participate in both if they want while still having time to plan everything. Since Camp NaNo started I have been participating on and off since April 2013 and hadn't ever won any of them. Now back in November, I mentioned that I won the regular NaNoWriMo and I am happy to announce that I have won the July 2019 Camp NaNo. While the story that I have been working on for the past month isn't finished yet, and I migh...

Lately, I have been a bit quiet on the blogging front for this blog. But that is partly because I am having a hard time finding something to write about. While that isn't all true I do have two blog posts that I started working on, but haven't finished yet because I got stuck with where to go next. I know that this is a bit of a cliche topic but it has been on my mind a bit lately. But this has been popping up in my head a lot lately. I think it is partially because we often miss out on the little things in life. An example of this that I recently had was the other weekend at a friends wedding. In the front inside flap of the program that they had for the ceremony the bride and groom had a little note asking that their guest become unplugged so that they could participate in the ceremony. With the exception of one or two people at the very end, all of the guests respected the wishes of the bride and groom and kept their phones away and participated in the ceremony.
